Mortgage Bad Credit

One of the most daunting tasks that people can face in their lives is applying for a mortgage. Bad credit doesn’t help make it any easier either. Often comments like this are received:-

"Neither my husband nor I had great credit and this made us rather apprehensive about applying for a mortgage, as we really thought that our bad credit history would be a large problem, and that loans for poor credit would be difficult to find. We decided to do a little research first, and we found that a mortgage broker would be the best way to proceed with our loan application. Part of the reason that we decided to look into using a mortgage broker was because it was recommended to us by the person selling the home."

The woman who was selling her home had questionable credit but a mortgage broker will be able to find a decent loan for her mortgage, bad credit and all. If it worked for her,  it would work for you. You don't have to have awful credit, you may just have been through a few rough times in your past.  Late payments going back years still show in any credit report that is done by a lender.   Bad Credit History does stick with you, and can haunt you years later.

Mortgage bad credit can be a serious situation for a prospective borrower. A lot of people do not have spotless credit, just a few mortgage arrears can make your credit history bad.  Your mortgage broker will work with you and will give you a list of information that he needs in order to secure the best bad credit loan rate for you that he can. You can sometimes find errors within your credit report information, which need to be corrected.  Often balances still show up that were actually cleared years ago.

It can be a good idea, if you find an old debt still showing, to contact the company yourself and request that they amend the record. They will fully understand that if you are applying for a new mortgage or a re-mortgage you will want as little bad credit on your report as possible.

Equally your Credit Report could show a balance on an account that you thought was cleared a long time ago. You can then pay this off which will help you.

Armed with all the information, your broker will be able to source a great loan with a reasonable rate of interest, and you will get your mortgage bad credit and all.
